LG디스플레이(대표이사 부회장 한상범)는 15일, 중국 상해에 위치한 더블트리 힐튼호텔에서 LG전자·스카이워스(Skyworth)·콩카(Konka)·창홍(Changhong)·하이센스(Hisense)·소니·필립스 등 TV 제조사와 수닝(Suning)·징동닷컴(JD.com) 등 유통 업체, 그리고 시상협회·전자상회 및 업계 전문가 등 140여명을 초청한 가운데 ‘2019 OLED 파트너스 데이(OLED Partner’s Day) 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
Major electronic companies such as LG Electronics, Sony, Vestel, Changhong, Skyworth presented OLED TV as main exhibition. In particular, Samsung Electronics’ “Micro LED” exhibition received a great deal of attention. Samsung Electronics unveiled the world’s first “micro LED” technology-applied 146-inch modular TV, “The Wall.” People came to see the product and it was heated up in a hot issue. Samsung Electronics emphasized that this product is a future screen that is unlimited in image quality, size and form. Through the implementation of the local dimming 3000, “The Wall”, which was unveiled at the exhibition show is developed by brightness, contrast ratio, color reproduction and black display compared to the existing display.
2018년 1월 8일부터 미국 라스베거스 엔클레이브 컨벤션 센터(Enclave Convention Centre)에서 최대 전자쇼인 CES가 열렸다. LG Electronics와 Sony를 중심으로 Vestel, Changhong, Skyworth 등 주요 전자회사에서 OLED TV를 메인 전시품 중 하나로 내세운 가운데 Samsung Electronics의 ‘마이크로 LED” 전시에 대한 관심 또한 뜨거웠다.
지난 4월 9일부터 11일까지 광둥성 선전에서 CITE(China Information Technology Expo, 중국 전자 정보 기술 박람회) 2017이 열렸다. 올해로 5회째를 맞는 CITE 2017은 중국 공신부와 선전시 정부가 주최하는 아시아 최대 전자 정보 전시회로 매년 1,600여 개 업체가 참여하고, 16만여 명이 참관하는 세계적인 IT 행사다.
CITE 2017(China Information Technology Expo) was held in Shenzhen, China from April 9 to 11. As the Asia’s largest electronic and information exhibition hosted by the ministry of industry and information technology of the people’s republic of China and the local government of Shenzhen, the 5th CITE 2017 is the international IT event in which 1,600 companies participate annually, with 160,000 visitors.
Loewe, Philips, Seiki, Metz, Condor업체가 합류하여, IFA 2016에서는 LG전자를 포함해 작년 대비 2배 증가한 11업체가 OLED TV를 전시하였다.
Loewe는 “OLED display thinner than a smartphone”와 “The most beautiful OLED TV in the world”, Philips LCD TV에서 OLED TV로 바뀔 것 임을 주제로 하였다. LG전자는 이전과 달리 OLED 패널에 HDR을 적용한 Skyworth를 전시하였다.
반면, Hisense는 자사가 판매중인 ULED TV의 우수성을 홍보하기 위해 작년 OLED TV 제품과 비교 전시하였지만, LG전자의 Skyworth로 인해 우수성이 부각되지 않았다.

9월 4일에 개최된 IFA 2015가 9일 모든 일정을 마쳤다. 이번 IFA 2015는 다양한 OLED TV 제품이 전시되었고 큰 주목을 끌었다는 점에서 지난 IFA와 비슷했지만 구체적으로 분석하였을 때 몇 가지 차이가 있었다.
Currently LG is the only company selling 4K OLED TV in large quantity. But soon this is expected to change and boost the market with Chinese and Japanese companies joining in.
앞으로 증가할 것으로 예상되는 OLED TV 수요에 맞춰 LG디스플레이뿐 아니라 후발 업체들 또한 OLED TV용 패널을 양산할 것으로 기대되어 OLED 패널과 OLED TV 출하량 증가에 기여할 것으로 전망된다.
